Manual Creation Of System Restore Point

Manual creation of System Restore point involves following steps..

Step 1: Right Click on MyComputer And select properties.

Step 2: (XP users go to step 3)Now click on System Protection Link On Top of the left hand side.


Step 3: Select the system protection tab, and click on the create button.


Step 4: It will guide you through the wizard. Give the name of the restore point and press ok.

Problem in saving a file after editing in the windows directory..!!

There will be some cases in which we have to edit the pre-defined windows files in notepad(generally). But while saving them after editing, a SaveAs box appears instead of saving(especially in vista and windows 7).
In that time follow these steps..

Step 1: Save the file in another location (say Desktop), but notice that the file extension is same while saving. (in general .file or .inf etc)

Step 2: Then Copy the file from desktop in the windows directory.

Thats it...

Problem solved..

How to block a particular website..?

There are many software's on the internet to block particular sites from viewing..

But the problem is, all those programs should be run in the background and will use some system resources, which results in the PC SLOW DOWN. So here is the procedure for blocking a website without any software.

Step 1: Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc (where c is my Windows OS Installation drive)

Step 2: Then right click on the file HOSTS and open it with notepad.

Step 3: See for the line "127.0.0.1 localhost", at the end of this line press Enter and add as 127.0.0.2 www.orkut.com if you want to block orkut and in the next line 127.0.0.3 www.facebook.com if you want to blocl facebook also and so on...


Step 4: Save the file. If you have any problems in saving the file see this.

Step 4: Then give the name for it, every DWORD has its own value, to change the value double click on it. Then a popup will come through which you can set the value.

Step 4: In the left panel navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options

Step 5: After clicking on the "Image File Execution Options" you will find 2 Subkeys on the right panel with names "explorer.exe" and "iexplorer.exe" right click on those keys and press delete.

That's It... Now Restart the system..


NOTE : This method works if the problem is due to virus. If it not works it may due to the corruption of the file explorer.exe.

kill the process named 'wgtray.exe'

Step2:

Restart The System In Safe Mode
(For this press F8 while booting & select Safe Mode)

Step3:

Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32
delete the file named 'wgtray.exe'

Step4:

Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
delete the file named 'wgtray.exe'

Step5:

Go To Registry Editor
(For this type 'regedit' in run box)

Step6:

Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogonnotify
and delete the 'wgalogon' folder

Step7:

del all wgatray.exe in regedit by searching

Step8:

Now reboot the system normally.


That's it No More Not Genuine Notification
