Problem in saving a file after editing in the windows directory..!!

There will be some cases in which we have to edit the pre-defined windows files in notepad(generally). But while saving them after editing, a SaveAs box appears instead of saving(especially in vista and windows 7).
In that time follow these steps..

Step 1: Save the file in another location (say Desktop), but notice that the file extension is same while saving. (in general .file or .inf etc)

Step 2: Then Copy the file from desktop in the windows directory.

Thats it...

Problem solved..
